There are many ways to rotate content on your website or blog and there are many different purposes for rotating content on your website. Also, there are many different forms of content to rotate on your website or blog.
Every image, ad, banner, graphic, text snippet, google adsense and whatever else I can find is being rotated on this page.....each page refresh creates a different page.
We are going to take a look at using a php script to rotate different forms of content on your blog. By different forms I mean, things like images, linked text snippets, plain text snippets, banners, linked banners, various other graphic images, google adwords and just about anything you can come up with, you can probably fit into the confines of this script and rotate it within a webpage.
Why would you want to rotate images on your website or rotate anything? It keeps your website fresh, creates a constant new look or maybe you want to sell some space on a high traffic website.
Want to beat the duplicate content penalty or at leasst score better.....rotate a snippet of text before your plr article, rotate a snippet of text in the center of your article and rotate a snippet of text at the end of your article. Duplicate content stirs up all kinds of arguments but if you use plr articles, it is the entireity of the page that helps to make the difference between your plr article and someone elses....use rotating snippets of text, images and ads to change the page. Let's say you have 20 people who buy banner images to be rotated on one of your webpages. You could have the images rotate on every page refresh, that is everytime someone comes to the webpage a new banner shows. You can link the banner and even include a tracking code so the customer knows how many times the banner has been viewed or at least shown.
Let's do some math, you have 20 banners to rotate and you charge $30 a month to advertise on your site. If you have 400 unique views a day each person could possible have their banner shown 20 times a day or 600 times a month. If you website has a tightly focused market you shouldn't have a hard time getting a mere $30 per advertiser. Let's do the important math....20 banners times $30 a month will put $600 a month in your pocket! That's some nice coin!
You might even find one guy wanting to hog the entire space for the whole month. You could entice him by giving him a discount for the the entire month if he prepays for a year or 6 months. Keyword.....prepays, don't accept anything else because the guy/gal will probably bolt on you, in which case, you'd be better lining up prospects to get their banner or ad in rotation on your site. Of course this little php script will rotate till the cows come home and you won't have to do a thing except collect the cash!
Another nice thing about using the php rotation script is that you can apply html attributes to in, give it a border, align it to the left, center or right. Make it bold or underlined...you name it...if it's part of html, you can do it. You can also use css to manipulate an image or text. The more you know about html, css or php...the more creative you can get with rotating images, text, iframes, or just about anything.
On this sample page simple hit refresh and you'll see a different ad, banner, text or iframe....not only different images but the same images in different locations. I kept it simple and aligned the rotated image to the right or left so that the text will wrap around it.....Again, it's totally up to you how you format anything you rotate, I spent the better part of a day playing around to see how I could manipulate the image, text or ad that was rotated.
Have fun with it, and think about the different ways you might be able to use this script. Since it's php you can have someone alter the code to do anything special you might dream of. It gets really cool when you start thinking about how you could monetize this
little script.....of course you need some traffic, but once you jump that hurdle you essentially can sell space on your website and make much more than serving up Google Adsense or some other lame ppc advertising.

Here is another way to rotate content on your website or blog.
Here's a free wordpress plug in that randomly rotates ads in your blog....haven't tried it but it is limited to 6 ads, it could do in a pinch.
If you have a wordpress blog, then you really need to check out Dave Pankhurst's new Ad Block Rotator, it is one of the easiest ways to rotate linked banners that I've run across. You can group 125 x 125 ads in blocks, you can have 1 large banner, you can create any combination of images. Think of how you might be able to monetize your blog with rotating ads or rotating banners. You can even sell some or all the spaces for a nice monthly income. I use it on my blog at Interent Marketing Tips in 3 different places the large ad in the side column, the group of 3 ad's across, and the vertical group of ads down the side colum. I think you can add up to 9 different ad groups and you can use the php code to stick your ads anyplace in your blog or you can use the widget version......I highly recommend it!
Put your thinking cap on and start your rotation :) |
